His military service included campaigns in Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima. Percy was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack and served as the president of the North Carolina Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and was active in a number of veterans associations. He married Cozette Stacy on 3 August 1946. Percy was president of the NC Linville Family Assoc. from 1982 until his death in 2005 - 24 years. Percy John Fulton died on 17 October 2005 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, NC, at age 86. He was buried on 21 October 2005 at Forsyth Memorial Park, Forsyth County, NC.
