He retired from the Navy in 1953. He was (an unknown value) between 1955 and 1982 at Owned Wellington Cafe, Newport, RI. He died on 18 September 2002 at Middletown, RI, at age 95. He was buried at Newport Memorial Park, Newport, RI.
