     Peter Lock married Rhoda (?) circa 1820. Peter Lock died after 12 June 1828 at Switzerland County, IN; On 12 June 1828, Peter and Roda Lock conveyed their land to their heirs in exchange for their care. Heirs named are Richard Lock, Dudley Linville, Miles Pittman, Jemima Lock, William Lock, Benjamin Lock and Elizabeth Lock.

     Dudley Linville was born between 1800 and 1804 at Henry County?, KY. He married Elizabeth Bear, daughter of Peter Bear, on 13 August 1819 at Switzerland County, IN. Dudley Linville appeared on the census of 1820 at Jefferson, Switzerland County, IN. Ten years later, Dudley Linville appeared on the census of 1830 at Ceaser's Creek, Dearborn County, IN. His final appearance on the census was in 1840 at Dearborn County, IN. He apparently died after after 1840 probably Dearborn County, IN; Dudley does not appear in the 1850 census entry that incudes his wife and some of kids - so he either died or relocated without his family. There are two "Linville" marriages in Switzerland or Dearborn County, IN besides the one for Dudley Linville and Elizabeth Bear in 1819. These two seem likely to be two of their daughters, but neither bride or groom are recognizable by their married names in the 1850 everyname census to track further:

     Elizabeth Bear was born between 1800 and 1804. She married Dudley Linville, son of Daniel Linville and Rhoda (?), on 13 August 1819 at Switzerland County, IN. As of 19 August 1819,her married name was Elizabeth Linville. Elizabeth Bear appeared on the census of 1850 at Washington, Dudley County, IN; Living with her son Fielding and 4 daughters... She appeared on the census of 1860 at St. Joseph, Champsaign County, IL; Living with son, Fielding.

     It is speculative that this son's name was Dudley, too, but the Dudley Linville (bc 1804-m 1819- d after 1840) has only one younger male listed in the 1830 and 1840 census. There is no evidence as to his actual name, but the name Dudley only appears in this family and another one whose father Linville, married to Matilda ( ---) and died about 1847. His widow was remarried in Carter County, TN around the time of the birth of this "second" Dudley Linville, who was her son. It seems possible this male could be the same one who was born to Dudley and Elizabeth (Bear) Linville in IN, but there is no specific evidence for this, yet. Dudley? Linville was born between 1820 and 1825 at IN. He apparently married Matilda (?) circa 1840. Dudley? Linville died circa 1847, possibly at IN?

     Matilda (?) was also known as Matilda. She was born between 1820 and 1825. As of circa 1840,her married name was Linville. She apparently married Dudley? Linville, son of Dudley Linville and Elizabeth Bear, circa 1840. Matilda (?) married David Britt on 17 October 1850 at Carter County, TN; Mandy's second marriage. As of 17 October 1850, Matilda (?) was also known as Mandy. As of 17 October 1850,her married name was Britt.

     The connection between this Dudley Linville who was born about 1842-4 and the Dudley Linville of Switzerland County, IN is speculative, but seems likely. Dudley of Thorn Grove, TN was born in 1844 at TN. Dudley's father apparently died shortly after his birth, which fits with the Dudley Linville who disappears after the Dearborn County, IN 1840 census. Dudley (1844-1873) was supposedly in Thorn Grove, TN with his mother Matilda "Mandy" Linville who second married David Britt in 1850. Matilda and David Britt do appear on the 1850 census with Matilda's other Linville children, but this younger Dudley does not appear in any census from 1850-1870, that can be determined. All the information on his life comes from his Civil War Pension records. Dudley Linville began military service on 18 November 1862 Enlisted in Company C, Illinois 77th Infantry Regiment. He ended military service on 7 July 1865; Mustereed out. He married Margaret Emmaline Brown, daughter of Abner Brown and Susan A. Sheriff, on 25 May 1866 at Thorn Grove, Sevier County, TN. Dudley Linville and Margaret Emmaline Brown appeared on the census of 1870 at Union County, TN. Dudley Linville died circa 1875 at Thorn Grove, Sevier County, TN. In the 1880 census, all four of Dudley/Margaret's kids are living with Margaret and new husband, Peter M. Huffaker.

     Peter M. Huffaker was born circa 1857 at TN. He married Margaret Emmaline Brown, daughter of Abner Brown and Susan A. Sheriff, on 25 August 1877 at TN. Peter M. Huffaker and Margaret Emmaline Brown appeared on the census of 1880 at Knox County, TN.

     Susannah Linville was born circa 1825 at Dearborn County, IN; descendant input and son named Dudley. As of 10 August 1844,her married name was Susannah Dolph. She married Peter Dolph on 10 August 1844 at IN. Susannah Linville and Peter Dolph appeared on the census of 1850 at Posey, Fayette County, IN. Susannah Linville and Peter Dolph appeared on the census of 1860. Susannah has disappeared along with young kids by 1870 census. Husband, Peter, is living with a grandson and wife.

     Her married name was Linville. Mary (?) apparenlty married Harmon Linville, son of Brace Linville and Rachel King, because a woman named Mary is listed with him in the 1860 census.

     Thomas Linville was born in 1857 at KY.

     William P. Linville was born circa 1833 at SC; Father & mother born in SC. There is only one possible branch of the Linville family in South Carolina in the 1830s to account for William P.'s birth -- that of Lewis Linville's (d. 1822) descendants. Additional research is in progress (2004) to determine which branch. It is complicated by the fact that the oldest son, Lewis Evan Linville (definitely a name from Laurens County, SC branch) changed his name by 1900 to Thomas Jefferson Linville. He appeared on the census of 17 September 1850 at On the Cousumnes River, Sacramento County, CA. William P. Linville, age 20, born in SC was living in a household of miners as is Lewis Linville, age 28, born in SC, who has real estate valued at $1000. This Lewis Linville may be the younger son of Lewis (d. 1822). See that family for additional information. He married Elizabeth F. Jones on 1 July 1855 at Sacramento County, CA.

     Elizabeth F. Jones was born in 1834 at SC; Father & mother born in VA. She married William P. Linville on 1 July 1855 at Sacramento County, CA. Her married name was Elizabeth F. Linville.

     Lewis Linville seems likely to be related to the William P. Linville who is in the same household of gold miners with him. Both were born in SC and seem likely to be descendants of Lewis Linville (d. 1822), but research on the branches of this family continue (2004). Lewis Linville was born in 1822 at SC. He appeared on the census of 17 September 1850 at Over the Cousumnes River, Sacramento County, SC, with William P. Linville of SC and others. Lewis has real estate valued at $1000.

     Lewis Evan Linville was born on 7 March 1861 at Eldorado County, CA. He appeared on the census 23 June 1880 at Eden, Jackson County, OR, with parents William P. and Elizabeth F. Linville. He married Flora Ann Stacy, daughter of Isaac Jackson Stacy and Amy L. Smith, on 7 October 1888 at Antioch Schoolhouse, Jackson County, OR. Lewis Evan Linville was also known as Thomas Jefferson Linville. Lewis Evan Linville also went by the name of Jeff Linville. He and Flora Ann Stacy appeared on the census of 1900 at Sams Valley, Jackson County, OR; Listed as Jeff Linville on this cesnsu. Lewis Evan Linville and Flora Ann Stacy appeared on the census of 1910 at Canyon Ferry, Gilliam County, OR; Listed as Thomas J. on the census. Lewis Evan Linville and Flora Ann Stacy appeared on the census of 1920 at Klamath Falls, Klamath County, OR; Listed as Thomas J. on the census. Lewis Evan Linville and Flora Ann Stacy appeared on the census of 1930 at Klamath Falls, Klamath County, OR; Listed as Thomas J. on the census.      Maacha (?) was born before 1778. She married John Linville before 1800. Maacha (?) acquired Maacha (?) on on 8 May 1800. Maacha Linvill paid $37 for 60 acres of land she bought from Thomas Williams, adjacent to Benjamin Bruwer (sp?). The deed was recorded 5 Mar 1801, but what happened to the land after that is not clear. There is a John Linville in the Greenville County, SC census in 1800 who seems likely to be her husband, especially since the Benjamin Brewer household is just 13 households from theirs. The John Linville household consists of one male 26-45 and one female 26-45.

     John Linville was born before 1774. As of before 1800,his married name was Maacha Linville. He married Maacha (?) before 1800. John Linville appeared on the census of 1800 at Greenville, Greenville County, SC; There is a John Linville in the Greenville County, SC census in 1800 who seems likely to be the husband of Maacha Linville, especially since the Benjamin Brewer household is just 13 households from theirs. The John Linville household consists of one male 26-45 and one female 26-45. He died after 1800; No further record of him is obvious after this census.

     Rosamond Lillice Soulis also went by the name of Rose Soulis. She was born on 5 September 1966 at Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN. As of 28 November 1992,her married name was Rosamond Lillice Czukkermann. She married Ron Czukkermann on 28 November 1992.
