He married Rose Pernelia Linville, daughter of John Sanders Linville and Cora Jane McCuiston, on 17 July 1948 at Forsyth County, NC. David Carlton Cummings and Rose Pernelia Linville appeared on the census of 1950 at Friendship, Guilford County, NC. David Carlton Cummings died on 24 April 2015 at Greensboro, Guklford County, NC, at age 94.
